V.I.P GUESTS FOR NINE CADETS FROM 338 SQUADRON

June 01, 2019

Nine cadets from 338 Junior Wildcats Squadron Brossard Optimist were the lucky ones to get a V.I.P access to the Snowbirds Canadian Air Force demonstration team on June 1st, 2019. Just before accessing the Air Show site,
those lucky cadets got a chance to meet with one the Snowbirds pilot, Capt. Pierre-Marc Deschesne.

Each cadet had a chance to sit in the right hand seat to get a full view of the cockpit and flight controls. Capt Deschesne generously answered all the questions our cadets had on the plane and how to become a snowbird pilot.

This visit was arranged by Capt Claude Bérubé and 2Lt Remy Chercuitte who are both members of our affiliated unit, 438 Tactical Helicopter Squadron.

Another privilege to be part of the Air Cadet program with 338 Junior Wildcats Squadron Brossard Optimist.

41 JUNIOR WILDCATS CADETS GO AIRBORNE AT AN AIRPLANE FAMILIARIZATION FLIGHT ACTIVITY

November 24, 2018

For many of them, it was their first opportunity ever to experience the joy of flying as part of our 338 Squadron Airplane familiarization flight activity. Their flight took place at the St-Hubert Airport on November 24, 2018.

Our cadets were divided in teams of 3 and climbed onboard a 4 seater Cessna 172 Airplane for their flight. They were prepared on the ground by a highly skilled crew of 3 members of our affiliated unit (438 Tactical Helicopter Squadron). While waiting for their flight, they were presented some lessons on the theory of flight and a comprehensive description of what is a conventional airport circuit. They even had a chance to get some presentation on the Canadian Forces Griffon Helicopter around a static display. An opportunity that very few citizens get a chance to experience.

Once airborne, our cadets had a beautiful view of the Montreal Olympic stadium, Mount Royal and Montreal downtown high rises. All came back after a successful smooth landing with a beautiful smile and an empty motion sickness bag… of course  :-)
