MID AUGUST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. When do we start cadet activities?

We will kick off our 2019-2020 training year on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2019 at Marie Victorin Community Center. The dress for this activity will be civilian clothing with your squadron blue T-Shirt or your course T-Shirt if you attended summer camp.

2. How do we kick off the new training year?

It will happen in three easy steps.

First, all registered cadets who have been issued a uniform must come with a parent for their annual validation. Those cadets will be invited by groups at a specific timing for their instruction level at Marie Victorin Community Center between 10:00 and 12:00. They will be required to meet with the administration team to update an important document and they will receive from our sponsoring committee the instructions concerning the annual Air Cadet League fund raising campaign (L'auto Cadets).

Second, after completing their annual validation, all cadets will be invited to stay with us for a corn roast lunch and activities prepared by staff cadets between 12:00 and 16:30. Cadets will have the opportunity to sign up for one of our optional activity program.

Third, any teen agers aged between the age of 12 to 15 wishing to register to the Air Cadet program will be invited with one of their parent to attend one of our cadet program information session between 13:00 and 16:00. At the end of the information session, future cadets and their parents will have the opportunity to visit our optional activities information booths. Those who wish to register will be invited to begin their registration process immediately after. Integration activities will be available in the afternoon for newly registered cadets.

3. Will it be possible to register new cadets after the September 8, 2019 open door activities?

Yes! Those parents and youths who are not available for the September 8th open door activity will be able to visit us at Marie Victorin Community Center between 19:00 and 21:00 to register their teen agers on the following dates in September:

  • Wednesdays: 11, 18, or 25 September

  • Fridays: 13, 20, 27 September

4. Some parts of my uniform do not fit any more. When can I come to exchange what needs to be changed?

Try your uniform and you might discover that you have grown up during the summer. If this is the case, bring the uniform part that you want to exchange on the September 8 activity and we will exchange it. Our supply section will be opened between 19:00 and 21:00 on the following Tuesday nights in september:

  • Tuesdays September 10, 17, or 24

5. When do we begin our training activities at Antoine Brossard High School?

Our mandatory training program activities will resume at Antoine Brossard High School on Friday September 13, 2019 at 19:00. You will not be authorized to begin our training activities at Antoine Brossard until you have completed your annual validation. If you missed the September 8th activity to do your annual validation then your other option will be Wednesday September 11, 2019.

6. What do I have to do if I do not want to continue with the Air Cadet Program?

Well, this is very unfortunate but we respect your decision. Your parents accepted the responsibility for the cadet uniform that was issued to you on a temporary loan. This has a value of more than $500 and all uniform parts in your possession MUST BE RETURNED to our supply office (Marie Victorin Community Center) between 19:00 and 21:00 on every Wednesday nights in September ( Sept 4, 11, 18, or 25).
